After fleeing her war-torn homeland, Liubov Palchak, a resilient Ukrainian refugee, arrives at UNC-Chapel Hill with her young son, determined to continue her pursuit of a Ph.D in medicine at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy and give her son a safe, happy life. Despite facing the daunting challenges of navigating a new country, a foreign academic system, and the demands of motherhood, Liubov refuses to be deterred.
